This study examines green hotel practices in the Philippines and their influence on guest perception, satisfaction, and behavioral intentions through a qualitative literature review. Drawing on recent studies published from 2021 to 2026, and guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Expectation-Confirmation Theory (ECT), the research synthesizes key findings on sustainable hospitality practices and guest responses within the Philippine context. The review identifies that hotels commonly implement sustainability initiatives such as energy conservation, water management, waste reduction, and eco-friendly sourcing, aligning with global environmental standards while improving operational efficiency. Findings reveal that guests generally perceive these practices positively, associating them with environmental responsibility, service quality, and enhanced overall experience. However, guest perception is not uniform and is influenced by factors such as environmental awareness, perceived value, trust, service quality, communication, and social norms. Limited awareness and poor communication may lead to misunderstanding or underappreciation of green initiatives, while transparency and visible implementation strengthen positive perceptions. The study further finds that green hotel practices significantly affect guest satisfaction and behavioral intentions, including revisit intention, loyalty, willingness to pay a premium, and positive word-of-mouth. Satisfaction emerges as a key mediating factor linking green practices with behavioral outcomes. When sustainability initiatives meet or exceed guest expectations, they enhance satisfaction and encourage supportive behaviors. Overall, the review concludes that green hotel practices serve both environmental and strategic purposes. Their effectiveness, however, depends on proper implementation, clear communication, and alignment with guest expectations, highlighting the importance of integrating sustainability with quality service delivery.
