Abstract

Ang mababang antas ng pag-unawa sa binasa ng mga mag-aaral ay nananatiling suliranin sa maraming paaralan, lalo na kung ang mga kagamitang pampagkatuto ay hindi nakaugnay sa kanilang lokal na karanasan at kultura. Layunin ng pag-aaral na ito na matukoy ang kabisaan ng lokalisado at kontekstwalisadong tekstong pampagbasa sa pagpapaunlad ng pag-unawa sa binasa ng mga mag-aaral sa ikapitong baitang ng San Andres National High School para sa taong panuruang 2025–2026. Ginamit ang quasi-experimental design na may dalawang pangkat: eksperimental na ginamitan ng mga materyales na nakabatay sa lokal na konteksto at kontrol na gumamit ng tradisyonal na materyales. Sa pamamagitan ng pauna at panapos na pagsusulit, sinuri ang antas ng kasanayan sa pagbasa. Ginamit ang mean, standard deviation, at paired samples t-test sa pagsusuri ng datos. Ipinakita ng resulta na ang eksperimental na pangkat ay tumaas mula 16.41 sa paunang pagsusulit hanggang 31.07 sa panapos na pagsusulit, mula sa Frustration Level patungong Instructional Level. Samantala, ang kontrol na pangkat ay bahagyang bumaba mula 14.93 hanggang 14.29 at nanatili sa Frustration Level. Lumabas din na may makabuluhang pagkakaiba sa pauna at panapos na pagsusulit ng eksperimental na pangkat (p = 0.000), samantalang walang makabuluhang pagkakaiba sa kontrol na pangkat (p = 0.671). Napatunayang epektibo ang paggamit ng lokalisado at kontekstwalisadong materyales sa pagpapataas ng pag-unawa sa binasa. Kaya inirerekomenda ang integrasyon nito sa kurikulum upang higit na mapabuti ang kasanayan sa pagbasa at maiugnay ang mga aralin sa buhay, karanasan, at kultura ng mga mag-aaral.
